Music to my ears

Music therapy is a research-based allied health practice delivered by a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) to improve the health and wellbeing of people of all ages using techniques involving Music.

The benefits of music therapy can include improved communication, social skills, movement and mobility, regulation of mood and emotions, and cognitive processes such as memory, attention, planning, and problem-solving. Furthermore, studies have shown that music therapy has the potential to improve the communication skills of those with disabilities, reduce self-injurious behaviour, aggression and other behaviours and maintain psychological wellbeing.

Music therapy can be funded under the NDIS to help people with disability to achieve their goals, if it is considered a reasonable and necessary support.
